The reeds looked robust and well made when i first took them out the box. I had to use some hemp to fit the reeds into my stocks however they were well seated once in place. Both tenors required adjustment before starting and tuning at the required level on my pipes, which is normal for all my new reeds. I found the adjustments on the bridle to be almost too sensitive, as the smallest of movement made a huge difference to the amount of air the reeds took; the same i thought of the bass. I found that the reeds leaked air, however, once i tinkered with them a bit i managed to set up the reeds. I found them to have a very sweet and refined sound, particularly the bass which i think would be suited to a solo set-up as it's not overpowering like some bass reeds. I also found the reeds very easy to strike in, not a hint of a doubletone.
